The Cross Church School of Ministry is a one-year ministry residency built around three components. Over the course of the residency, students will be immersed in these Cross Church essentials…
One of the leading causes of ministry burnout and fallout is an inability to manage life in ministry. We will take you deep into how to order your time, take care of your family, plan your finances with wisdom, care for your health, and nurture your spirit. You will interact with seasoned pastors and staff and learn from their successes and failures as well as being exposed to the best literature available in these areas.
A full 90% of ministers admit to feeling unprepared and unqualified for their ministry. We will expose you to the real nuts and bolts of how ministry is done in real time and real life. You will participate in Cross Church staff meetings, learn how ministry budgets are formed, study and practice biblical leadership, learn the behind the scenes administration of ministry, become a practitioner of communicating the Word of God, and even gain competency in using new technologies in ministry.
Global Gospel Advancement
The Great Commission is the greatest calling of a minister of the Gospel. We will immerse you in the DNA of mission theory and practice by taking you around the country and around the world on mission with us. You will learn to live out the theological essentials of evangelical Christianity and become a skilled apologist defending the faith. You will also be exposed to the inner working of the Southern Baptist Convention, the most missionally driven network of churches in the world.
Our curricular goal with the Cross Church School of Ministry centers on the mastery of reading, processing of ideas, development of personal ministry philosophy, writing, and exchanging of ideas. Collaborative learning in an Oxford-style environment is the focus of our curricular package. The entire curricular component takes place all day, one day a week. The remainder of the week is spent by the students in ministry practice as dictated by their customized ministry track.
We are not a school that burdens students with tests and quizzes. We are a School of Ministry that is passionate about preparing leaders for real-life ministry and global advancement of the Gospel.
